RECIPE

The Milly Cardi is a versatile top-down jacket that's ideal for cold days. It's knitted in stocking stitch with puff sleeves, and finished with double-folded edges on both the body and sleeves, giving it a clean and elegant look.

Increases are worked at the shoulder stitches from both the right and wrong sides to shape the neck opening and shoulders evenly, while working short rows (GSR) to shape the neckline. Further increases are made for puff sleeves and then with raglan increases on the sleeves and body, so that the garment has a comfortable and flexible fit. Finally, an i-cord belt is knitted as an extra small detail.

I recommend that you try on the jacket during the knitting process. Also take your experiences from how your swatch changed before and after rinsing. This way you can knit the perfect garment for your body.

The recipe is long. Some people like to read the entire recipe first. Feel free to do so, but my best recommendation is to read this recipe, paragraph by paragraph, sentence by sentence, and voila, you're done.

Size guide

Chest measurement of approximately 80 - 85 (85 - 90) 90 - 95 (95 - 100) 100 - 110 (110 - 120) 120 - 130 cm corresponds to size XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL. The jacket has a positive chest measurement of approximately 6 - 12 cm. I measure 93 cm in width and have knitted size S. Take your own measurements before you start knitting to find out what width you want. The sizes correspond to standard European sizes.

It is a good idea to knit a test piece before you start to check that the knitting tension is correct. Note that the knitting tension stated refers to the measurement after the top has been rinsed.
