The jacket is knitted from the top down in stockinette stitch. The entire jacket is knitted back and forth, while the sleeves are knitted in the round. Increase both on the knit and purl stitches, a total of 4 increases per round, around the 6 shoulder stitches. At the same time, increase on the front pieces to achieve a nice wrap-around jacket. Increase for puff sleeves as well. Raglan is used as an increase for the sleeves on the front and back pieces. If desired, knit a flounce and finish the jacket with an i-cord edge around the sleeves and at the bottom of the jacket. Knit two i-cord cords to tie the jacket together.

It is a good idea to knit a sample before you start, to check that the knitting tension is correct. Note that the knitting tension is stated after the jacket has been rinsed.
