The Winter Bird blouse is knitted from the top down in stockinette stitch with double thread Tilia from Filcolana, or a similar yarn with the same knitting tension. First, knit the top part of the back piece, then the shoulders and then the front piece. When the front and back piece are the same length, gather the parts and knit in the round. Pick up the sleeves along the edge of the armhole. The sleeves are knitted in stockinette stitch and start knitting in reverse rows to achieve a nice fit. The sleeves are finished like the body, with a nice folded edge. Then pick up new sts around the start of the sleeve. Knit in reverse rows, back and forth in stockinette stitch to get nice ruffles. Finally, pick up stitches around the neck opening, where a double folded edge is knitted, which is folded at the end and sewn. The sweater is assembly-free, except for the folded edge of the neck edge.
Knit a swatch to find the needle size that gives the correct knitting tension. Note that the knitting tension is stated after it has been rinsed.
Size guide
The Winter Bird blouse should have a range of motion of approx. 6 cm. This means that if you measure 90 cm across the chest, you should knit size S. which has a width of 96 cm. Measure yourself before you start, and find your size. This blouse should fit nicely across the chest, and you can choose whether it should be knitted straight down, or A-shaped.
