The vest is knitted from the top down in double rib. Start by knitting back and forth. Increase in pairs of increases a total of 4 times per round. At the same time as increasing for a v-neck on the front pieces. When the required number of stitches has been reached, bind off the shoulder stitches, and knit the front and back pieces separately. One section should also be knitted, on each side of the front and back pieces, with increases. Increases will then be made in the same way as before. When the desired length has been reached on the front and back pieces, gather these and knit in the round. Bind off with Italian bind off in double rib.
Around the armhole opening and the neck opening, pick up stitches and knit an i-cord edge. Otherwise, knit the entire vest in double rib, K2 and P2.
It is a good idea to knit a test piece before you start to check that the knitting tension is correct. Note that the knitting tension is given in stocking stitch.
If you want a tighter-fitting vest, you should go down one size.
The stated measurement is when the rib is not stretched. It will adapt to your body when you wear it, and will stretch 15 - 20 cm without spoiling the look. The sizes correspond to regular European sizes.
