PATTERN

The pants are knitted from the top down in the honey texture. You start by knitting a neat folded hem, then short rows are worked to give a good fit. Increases are worked in the pants to create width and a gusset. There are decreases on the pant legs. The entire pants are knitted in the texture pattern, apart from the ribbing, which is knitted with twisted stitches for a lovely finish. At the very end, a wide elastic is threaded through the folded hem.

Feel free to knit a gauge swatch before you start, to check that your gauge is correct. Note that the gauge is measured after soaking.

Sizes

The measurements correspond to sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (3XL) 4XL. The pants will adapt to the body, and it is important that they fit snugly over the bottom. I have therefore chosen to knit my pants in size XS. I measure 80 cm at the waist and 95 cm at the hip. The sizes correspond to standard European sizes. If you are in doubt between two sizes, I recommend choosing the size closest to your hip measurement. The pants will stretch a little with wear, so knit the pant legs approx. 2 cm shorter than the length you want when worn.

Yarn alternatives:

Alva can be replaced with any type of lace-weight silk mohair, or another similar thin carry-along thread. Saga can be replaced with Tvinni from Isager or Flora from Drops. If you would like to knit with a single strand, feel free to try Peruvian from Filcolana, Peer Gynt from Sandnes Garn, Lanolin Wool from Dale, or Highland Wool from Knit and Note.
